How to Make a Claim

Please notify our Claims Department within 21 days of the incident that gives rise to a claim.

Our claims team will review and get in touch if clarification or further documentation is needed.

What to Prepare

To help us assess your claim, please prepare the following documents (where applicable):
Medical Certificate (MC)
Completed ECICS Personal Accident Claim Form
Medical report and/or hospital discharge summary
Original medical bills and receipts
Police report
(for accidents or serious injury)
Death certificate
(for fatal claims)
NRIC/Passport copy of claimant and insured person
Additional documents
(may be requested based on the nature of the claim)

Does my occupation affect my premium?

Yes, our premiums are dependent on the Insured Person's occupation class. Class 1: Professionals/persons engaged in indoor & non-manual work in non-hazardous places. Examples: Accountant, Banker/Finance Officer, Lawyer, IT Professional, Teacher. Class 2: Professionals/persons engaged in work of an outdoor or supervisory nature or involved occasionally in manual work whose duties do not involve the use of tools or machinery or exposure to any special hazard. Examples: Property Agent, Sales Executive, Nurse, Chef, Physiotherapist. Class 3: Professionals/persons engaged in manual work, involving the use of tools or machinery but not of a particularly hazardous nature. Examples: Electrician, Car Mechanic, Commercial Driver, Gardener, Painter.

Are pre-existing medical conditions covered under ECICS Personal Accident insurance policy?

No, all pre-existing conditions are not covered.

Do I need Personal Accident insurance if I already have health insurance?

It depends on the level of protection you want. Health insurance usually covers inpatient medical expenses for illnesses and injuries. Personal Accident insurance provides additional coverage for death or injury due to accident and includes outpatient medical expenses.

Do I need to inform ECICS if I changed my job after applying for ECICS Personal Accident Insurance?

Yes. You must notify us if there are any change in circumstances during the period of insurance affecting the risk such as changes in occupation or country of residence.

Do I have to go for a medical checkup before applying for ECICS Personal Accident insurance policy?

No, you do not need to go for a medical checkup but you will need to declare that you are in good health and free from physical or mental defect or infirmity or disease.
