How do I add Family members to be eligible for Comprehensive Family NCD Builder Plan?

Just simply select our Comprehensive Family NCD Builder Plan during purchase and add your family members as named drivers.

What if my job falls in between Class 1 and Class 2?

Always select the higher risk occupation class if your job falls between two classes. This ensures you remain fully covered and avoids issues during claims assessment.

Do you have Excess Waiver in your Private Motor Car insurance policy?

Yes, we offer complimentary excess waiver of up to $750 (depending on your current NCD%) for the first claim in a policy year when you repair your accident car at ECICS’s authorized workshops and share your in-car cctv footage with us.

Does my occupation affect my premium?

Yes, our premiums are dependent on the Insured Person's occupation class. Class 1: Professionals/persons engaged in indoor & non-manual work in non-hazardous places. Examples: Accountant, Banker/Finance Officer, Lawyer, IT Professional, Teacher. Class 2: Professionals/persons engaged in work of an outdoor or supervisory nature or involved occasionally in manual work whose duties do not involve the use of tools or machinery or exposure to any special hazard. Examples: Property Agent, Sales Executive, Nurse, Chef, Physiotherapist. Class 3: Professionals/persons engaged in manual work, involving the use of tools or machinery but not of a particularly hazardous nature. Examples: Electrician, Car Mechanic, Commercial Driver, Gardener, Painter.

What information is required to open a POEMS account?

The Policyholder must consent to the PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act 2012), and their name and NRIC must match the records in their POEMS account. Any additional information required will be requested by POEMS.

Is my FDW covered while she is on home leave?

No, she is not covered unless she is travelling with you. We recommend purchasing a separate travel insurance for your FDW as the coverage would be more comprehensive for overseas situations where medical and evacuation costs are expected to be much higher.

As an employer, is there a way to limit my liability on the $5,000 Security Bond?

Yes, you can. We offer Waiver of Counter Indemnity as an optional add-on. With this, your liability on the $5,000 Security Bond is capped at $250, and the insurer covers the rest if the bond conditions are breached. However, this does not apply to any breach of bond conditions due to your negligence or fault.

What is the difference between Outpatient Medical Expenses (For Accident) and Hospital & Surgical Expenses?

• Outpatient Medical Expenses (For Accident) cover medical bills for outpatient treatments that arise solely from Accident. For example, your FDW accidentally scalds her hand while cooking and requires dressing for the burn.• Hospital & Surgical Expenses cover inpatient medical bills for treatments related to both accidents and illnesses.

What is MOM's Enhanced Medical Insurance Requirements?

Can I purchase only the $5,000 Security Bond without the accompanying insurance?

No. The Security Bond is included in our Enhanced MaidAssure along with MOM’s minimum medical and personal accident insurance as a package. We do not offer just the Security Bond.

Does your Motorcycle insurance cover me while I am riding in Malaysia or Thailand?

Our policy covers you when you ride your motorcycle in West Malaysia, the Republic of Singapore and that part of Thailand within 80.5km of the border between Thailand and West Malaysia.

What does your Motorcycle insurance cover?

We have 3 plans to suit your needs. The Comprehensive plan covers loss or damage to your motorcycle, as well as third party liability for bodily injury and property damage.

Do you offer NCD Protector for Motorcycle insurance?

Yes, ECICS motorcycle insurance policy comes with complimentary No Claim Discount Protector. It is free for our customers as long as you have NCD 10% and above.

Do I need Motorcycle insurance in Singapore?

Yes, it is illegal to use a vehicle in Singapore without a valid insurance cover. At a minimum, you must have third-party insurance, which covers injury or damage caused to other people and their property.

Do you cover everyone who use my motorcycle?

All riders need to be named in the policy. Unnamed riders are not covered.

How can I enjoy the benefits of No Claim Discount Protector (NCDP)?

With ECICS, all Private Motor Car insurance policy comes with a complimentary No Claim Discount Protector. It is free for our customers as long as you have NCD 10% and above.

Can I name a family member in more than one policy with ECICS on Comprehensive Family NCD Builder Plan?

Yes, so long as the driver has a valid driving license and fulfils our underwriting criteria as named driver, you can purchase this plan and add them as a named driver in the Comprehensive Family NCD Builder Plan.

How do I make a windscreen claim?

Please repair your windscreen at an ECICS Authorised Workshop. Call the workshop of your choice and they will help you file your claim and advise you accordingly. Click HERE for a copy of the Windscreen claim form.If the windscreen claim is of criminal or vandalism-related, a police report must be made. A copy of the police report must be submitted to your choice ECICS Authorised Workshop.

What are my options available if I am not at fault for the accident?

Claim directly against the Third Party who is liable for the accident. You can bring your damaged car / motorcycle to any of our Authorised Workshops or your own preferred workshop who can assist you to file the Third Party claim; orClaim Own Damage claim under your policy if you have purchased a Comprehensive coverage. You will need to pay necessary Policy Excess (if any). The workshop will then assist you to recover against the Third Party’s insurer for the Excess paid.

Do I still need to make an accident report even if there are no damages to my vehicle or a private settlement had been reached between parties involved?

Under the Motor Claims Framework (MCF), in any accident regardless how minor it was, it is a requirement that an accident report be lodged in any of our Approved Reporting Centres within 24 hours or by the next working day. Your insurer will do the necessary and review the matter upon receiving the signed Private Settlement form.
