What is No Claim Discount (NCD)?

NCD is awarded to you after you have been driving for a whole year with no claims registered, under one insurer in one consecutive policy period. This gives you more savings for your following year’s renewal premium. The table below illustrates how NCD is awarded on a step-up basis annually.

What is No Claim Discount Protector (NCD Protector)?

NCD Protector serves as a buffer if you suffer an unfortunate circumstance of being involved in an accident during your policy period. Please see the table below for further info.

We believe that anyone can be a good driver when they earn the very first NCD on an accident-free year. Therefore, we reward you with free NCD protection from 10% onwards. Most insurers would only offer this from 30% NCD onwards plus charging an add-on fee.

Secondly, we believe your NCD protection are recognized by accepting them from other insurers. For example, if you have 50% NCD with NCD protector whilst insured with Insurer X, and there is 1 claim registered to you, we will not penalize you for it if you choose to switch over to us. This is a unique proposition offered by ECICS as most insurers do not offer this.

Your NCD entitlement is transferable via one-way traffic to your legal spouse/legal children subject to underwriting review.

If you are a foreigner and you would like to transfer your overseas NCD entitlement, you may provide us with the relevant documents (stated below) for us to review and award according to our interpretation. Do note that even if you have 50% NCD overseas, it may not be the same 50% NCD we award you here.

If you are involved in an accident but do not submit a claim on your policy, instead you claim against the third party, we will not penalize your NCD.

Windscreen claims will not affect your NCD entitlement unless for the 3rd claim onwards in one policy period.
